Placement Process for T.A.C.L.E. Students
The T.A.C.L.E. programs are not appropriate for all students with Complex Communication Needs or Severe Speech and Physical Impairment. As with all placement decisions, a student's IEP team must make a collaborative decision to place the student in T.A.C.L.E. based upon student need and profile. The placement process includes the following steps:
The placement process includes the following steps:
- Any member of the student's IEP team may initiate a referral for consideration of placement in a T.A.C.L.E. program.
- The student's classroom teacher (case manager) contacts the designated site Network Administrator.
- The Network Administrator contacts the designated site AT specialist and appropriate T.A.C.L.E. teacher.
- The AT specialist and T.A.C.L.E. teacher review the student's IEP and pertinent records; and then conduct an observation of the student at his/her current placement.
- Following the observation, the AT specialist and T.A.C.L.E. teacher provide input to the Network Administrator regarding the observations.
- The Network Administrator follows up with the IEP team regarding the request for placement.
