Welcome to TACLE 4
Greetings! We are the TACLE 4 class at Oakland High School.
Just like in TACLE 1,2 and 3, the students in the TACLE 4 class all have a keen desire to participate and communicate, and use different types of technology - from paper-based systems, or 'no-tech' (eg PODD books) to high tech (tablet computers) to help them achieve their communication goals.
TACLE 4 provides a friendly, dynamic environment where our students study a specialist curriculum including: Social Skills, Life Skills, Transition, English Language Arts, Math, Science, History, Arts and Crafts.

Our Learning Environment
Our classroom is a space where students engage in academic study as well as working on their life and leisure skills.
Curriculum:
Enrichment:
We have several enrichment programs that we run across the school year, including a butterfly garden project, tomato patch, herb garden, cookery classes and weekly trips into the community (Community Based Instruction).
Gardening
We created a butterfly garden outside our classroom where we raise milkweed and other plants. Last fall we released 30 monarchs that we raised from eggs and caterpillars. Here is a link to our Monarch Butterfly website!
We have also started growing tomatoes and herbs for our cookery classes.
